Sun Lithograph

$75.00

The glow of the red-tinted sun is a familiar setting in Los Angeles during fire season. Its hue, cast over the land, is a warning of devastation at a distance, veiled by smoke, wafting like a giant grey flag slipping its way between the mountains and disappearing over the ocean. The glow of the sun piercing the dense grey sky becomes a symbol of lost memories, oblivion, and pain—a red shadow that carries with it complete destruction for those in its path.

Yet, even the golden-red light, so profoundly connected to loss, can create new meaning. Over time, it evolves into a symbol of change. It uproots and disorients us, yet creates reflection at the same time. It asks us to examine what no longer serves us and to search for new ways to exist. Much of what is lost within this change is impossible to reconcile, but sprouting from the wreckage something new emerges—resilience, unexpected strength and a clearer understanding of what truly matters.

This image is more than a memory of what once was. It is a reminder of what profound change can bring, and it is a representation of the power of community. Let it inspire you to check in with friends and family, to be a source of compassion, and to uplift one another in times of change, welcomed or unwelcomed. Because when all is lost, what remains is one another. It’s in those moments that we must become the support where supports once stood.
